| How comes? how comes that (tunisian) girls, nearly the most of them, insist or prefer to get married with a tunisian guy than other nationality? this phenomenon is shared by tunisian inside the country as well as outside. many of them tell that they would rather stay longer single than to take up someone no tunisian. for many reasons. its like they could control their feelings better than guys. its too hard, i think, but it seems like they do abviously. on the other hand, boys act indifferent. why? |

| Re : How comes? I once had to make that choice, I refused the non-Tunisian marriage but it was for different reasons, I didn't love him enough. Well, now, I don't care if he's tunisian or not... maybe 'cause I got enough of having to deal with tunisian guys? I'm not sure. Let's just say that I insist he's a muslim: I won't mind marrying a European if he's muslim. I think when we're in love, differences are not likely to cause much trouble. I'll just care to be with the man I'm in love with. Esotric, you're right about the fact that we feel better when he belongs to our country. I agree with that but nobody knows..Maktub

| Re : How comes? I believe that most tunisian girls prefer to get married with a tunisian guy rather than any other nationality, maybe it has something to do with religion but most likely tunisian women feel more secure when they share the same culture and traditions with their husbands. let me ask this question:what if a husband and a wife who are from different countries get divorced ? what's gonna happen to the kids?are they gonna be split between 2 countries if one of the parents decided to go back to his/her home country? who's gonna pay the price then? the kids?

| Re : How comes? good question. Well, even the decision to have children is not easy to make, specially not in this case. They have to be really sure that they're staying together, which is certainly impossible. Divorces happen even after 40 years of marriage sometimes. I know many mixed marriages and they're going on very well hamdellah, so one has to hope for the best! As I've already said, the thing that matters most to me is that he be muslim, wherever part of the world he comes from.

| Re : How comes? It's more than that...it's about having the same religious perspectives, and God doesn't allow a muslim woman to marry a non-muslim man though I think the opposite is allowed 'coz there's a good chance he converts his wife into Islam (well, it's just a guess). I'd love to marry a muslim man so that we be united both in life and after life (you can find that very spiritual and silly maybe, but I believe in it). Also, having a muslim husband can help me improve my muslim practices or at least practise them in that "togetherness" which would be missing in a mixed-religions marriage. For instance, it's Ramadan now, how would breaking the fast be like if I'm the only one fasting. He would be going in the everning to the bar and I to the mosque? loool Not that I'm against other religions, I do respect them but for me Islam is an important requirement in the husband I'd like to have (it's not the ONLY requirement, however).

| Re : How comes? what's the other requirement? to be very rich (just kidding)seriously now,you are absolutely right about a muslim woman must(or should??) marry a muslim man. that's as far as i know. I liked it when you said you two will unite in paradise inchallah,as romantic as it sounds,it reveals that your faith in God in one hand and in your future husband on the other hand is solid.that's a very pretty picture.
