I believe that looking back in anger is a very common thing among humans because everytime we look back at the things we've already done,we think we could have done things better. It's the humanity quest for perfection. We look forward in fear because we don't know what's the future has in store for us. When it comes to me,most of the time I look back in anger,I'm never totaly satisfied with what I've done. Sometimes when I look back I realise that I did something I should have never done so i try to do my best to repair the damage. Looking back is a good way to improve ourselves and learn from our mistakes. I usually don't think a lot about the future , I just enjoy life and try not to ruin it with thoughts about the future. That's my opinion but I'm sure Ayshu "knows better"

Looking back is not such a bad thing after all, if it were, people who lost memory wouldn't have felt so "lost" and "desoriented". The point is not to get too much involved in the past (and past mistakes) to spoil the present. Good memories are also part of our past. You are right aychu, it's somehow hard not to look back and sometimes impossible not to look back in anger. I usually prefer to look back so that I can avoid 'avoidable' mistakes. It is not with anger that I do it, the word I'd use to describe the worst moments of my looking back is "bitterness". Luckily, I've always been good at turning pages and moving forward (with some regrets sometimes but never enough to kill my joy of living the new day).

As for looking forward in fear.. I wouldn't be that proud about it. Future is the unknown. I don't look at it with the usual fear but with the "apprehension" we reserve for the unknown. Then, I end up deciding not to think about it at all and just live the day, which is usually more than enough to keep me busy
