| girls and fashion salem tt l monde, i want to talk about the fashion of today where we found that tunisian girls wear nothing just clothes that hide a part or two of the body, can i ask why? why we as girls wear this kind of clothes ?is it normal to show the sacred feminine body? can i ask, where are our parents and brothers?where are our moarlity and ethics? where are our degnity and respect for ourselves ?are we really muslim people? is it through this fashion -show that we say hey boys we are here...im a girl!:im really sick of knowing that we are so superficial and cheap trade.im sorry but wake up girls pls .it is the mind that count, the morality, the personnality not just the appearant beauty of the body.

| Re : girls and fashion Let me ask a question: what does your clothing say about you? I know so many veiled girls who are giving a picture about islam that's more disgusting to me than some bare inches (I'm not defending that either).

| Re : girls and fashion You can hold me accountable for what i'm about to say and i stand by it: the veil or al khemar has never been a part of our cultural heritage as a tunisian society,if you go back in history you would never find tunisian women wore that kind of hair cover which imported to us from somewhere in the east. Tunisian society has always been a muslim one without al khemar. my point is that you don't need al khemar to prove you are muslim, likewise dressing in fashion doesn't make "less muslim" PS: Sorry if i offended anybody by my opinion.

| Re : girls and fashion Well, lost your opinion remains debatable coz the sphere here is wider than being Tunisian or Lebanse or Syrian or whatever...It goes beyond all that to being muslim. We should thank God that we're starting to have more religious culture. Veil or no veil, we should first purify the heart. Still, God asked us in his book to wear veils. If we don't, that's "ma3sya". Unfortunately, in this particular topic, I belong to the category of people who say what they don't (do) "ya9ouloun ma la yaf3aloun"...On one hand, I wish I didn't belong to the non-veil culture, that would have make it easier for me (though I don't wear provocative clothes). On the other hand, I'm proud to be Tunisian, 'coz in many countries veil is more a part of social appearance and customs than a religious conviction and "ta3affouf li wajh elleh" and the examples for this specific category of veiled women are abondant (at least from where I stand). Well, I think we shifted from the main topic

| Re : girls and fashion We've been Muslims for centuries without al hijab. Take a look at our grand-mothers,they never wore a hijab as we know it today.they covered their heads in a way that was really beautiful.back then this debate didn't exist and nobody doubted their faith. The most important in being a muslim woman is not al hijab.

| Re : girls and fashion It is not the most important thing, I do agree, but then our grand-mothers aren't that perfect, nor that educated.

| Re : girls and fashion It's true they were not educated but at least they knew their religion the best way they could. I'm not against covering the head for a muslim woman but i don't seem to accept the idea of importing ideas from somewhere and apply them on tunisian people.we don't need lecture from anybody who pretend to know everything but in reality they have a hidden agenda.

| Re : girls and fashion Let me ask you this:did Coran explicitly say that women must wear a particular hijab and if you don't wear it's a sin? Can't you just use any head cover?

| Re : girls and fashion yes lost u're right about this !!!! the point is to cover the head and all parts of women's body except the face and hands !!! it 's about beeing not attractive or a seducing picture to man !!! but even if the women does cover all his body and abandoned all kind of fashion !!! the way she dress is always criticized no matter what by the man !!! |

| Re : girls and fashion Envoyé par lost The word "sin" is very strong for the situation here. I hate hearing people say this or that is sin. I think the biggest sin is al kofr wel cherk belleh. All the rest is "ma3seya" divided into "kaba2er" and other types of ma3assi.
My short-term objective is usually to avoid kaba2er, ana minimise these other types of "ma3sya". The Coran asks us to cover the body as Bright suggested (uncover only face, hands and feet). The way you do that is not an issue since you do it and since the main purpose of this is reached i.e to say, covering a seducing hair and body (which sometimes is not even seducing lol), in the only purpose of minimisign your responsibility in seduction. I don't know but seems that sometimes a covered body is more provocative. I remember one day I went out wearing a morrocan afternoon Keftan and I hated myself for having to deal with so many stares and supposedly flattering words. I really longed for my jeans that day!

| Re: girls and fashion yes friends, the veil is obligatory for women this is order from God almighty. so when I see a group of veiled girls in Tunisia I feel very satisfied. we were strange the last 30 years coz when we take a glimpse at old Tunisians they were very respectful but the last 10 years we really exagerated.. how comes that a girl wears bikini on beach 'n how comes that her father 'n brother don't react... Yet, Tunisian girls nowadays are taking a stand 'n being veiled is not the end it's the start point for all Muslimas. did u get my point, lost?
