Why do you fear to be yourself?

Persons hide a part of their personalities and fear to show them up, and sometimes they show the oposit if what is inside them and especially the emotionnal part.

Those who show their real emotinal sides and don't wear any social masks are often considered as unsocial, crazy or stupid !
Our society is all about codes, how to be , how to behaive in presence of elder ppl, how to act with children, how to be violent, how to be gentle.
It also tells us what is gay and what is not, what is cool and what is not.
It tells us that girls have to be all thin and slim. So all girls are trying to be so and act so !
Those who don't try and don't care are often considered as stupid, or crazy and are put aside.
The examples are so many .... that was one of them !!

That is to say !
Yes, we all have an emotional mask !
U don't hit ppl coz the get on ur nerve.
U don't cry whenever u fee like ... or else u r considered as crazy !
U don't go telling ppl that u have just farted, coz it is considered as a bad thing, althoug everyone farts !!
U don't say that u got drunk yesterday to ur parents, coz they will get worried !
U don't say that u saw the neighbour coming out of the shower throughout his window and that that neighbour was all naked, coz u'd be a voyeur ... although it is cool !
U do many things that everyone does and which are considered as bad, and still act like everyone else, fakely to fit it !
Everyone wishes they could kick that a**hole's ass till u'd see that person in blood ..... but u don't do it coz it is considered as bad !!

Society is all about controling urself, controling the real u to fit in !
religions organize those societies !!

We are all fake somehow ... we can only do so, or else not live in society !!

Mostly , it is not a fear of being ourselves, it is a control of ourselves to live in society !!!

So my question is ?? what do u think ?? u ??
and why consider it as a fear ??

I don’t wanna be fake !! If people put on some kind of social masks for other people’s sake, I’d rather be real for my own!
I mean, we can’t be either this or that, something in between must exist. We can keep the shocking parts for ourselves, no need to push our luck and go bare-naked.

It is not the fear of being ourselves. It’s rather a fear to scare people by showing who we really are, a fear of being rejected if these people don’t like what they see in us. But somehow, someday they will. So why pretend to be someone else.
If I love drinking, sure I won’t go running in the streets screaming out I’m hooked on white wine. But if someone asks me if I do, I’d be honest.
If someone gets on my nerves, I probably won’t be able to break his neck, but I’d tell him he gets on my nerves (politely) by saying: humm...I was wondering... if you would mind me saying that you REALLY PISS ME OFF!!!! (I know, not that polite )
If I inadvertently see my neighbor naked, I’d either wait till he/she notices me and wave at him/her with a huge smile (c’mon, it’s not that embarrassing) or buy him a cute underwear!
Nobody’s perfect, nobody is untouchable, nobody is 100% politically correct, we all know that. Hiding, pretending, faking is just… sad, it shows we are not even self-confident, it shows we give too much credit to other people’s opinions which is not fair, coz by doing so, we’ll do things in other people’s way, we’ll say things other people say and we’ll live our lives in other people’s way.
It’s stupid, either we accomplish ourselves, live our lives and upset people or please people and… not live at all.
It’s a wonderful feeling when you sense someone’s love and admiration for what you really are and not for what you pretend to be.
I am who I am. I prefer someone loving my real crazy side than another loving my fake politically correct one.
Not afraid of saying I’m addicted to cartoons and NFS, or I still suck my thumb when asleep, or I mimic people in their back when they piss me off, or I break one piece of my mom’s favorite chinas each time she talks about marriage, or I cry each time I see a kid crying, or I used to tear my brothers clothes when they were mean to me, or I hate my uncle Jamal, or I secretly read love romances (pathetic ain’t it? But who cares??)

Yes u will be the same person, but that is not faking anything !!
I know that some ppl when they are mad they go all silent for a day or two ... instead of reacting to that chemical reaction in their bodies called anger and explode !!

I know some other ppl who miss a certain person so much but can't tell that person how much he misses her coz he fears her rejection ... !!

It doesn’t take that long to know yourself! to know what you want, what you look up to, what you aspire for, what moves you, what hurts you, what destroys you and what makes you happy.
You are what you are.
Sure you’ll know what can hurt you when you actually get hurt, you’ll discover what you love in a person when you actually fall for that person. But it doesn’t take that long for you to be fully aware of the person you become.
There is no fear of self! Well…. except for schizophrenics maybe.
But.. dunno… maybe you’re right (you know better! ) we discover new things about ourselves we’ve been ignoring so far.

Teletubbies??? TELETUBBIES??? They’re just creepy with their huge hanging bellies and their freaky eyes!! How can we allow children to watch that show???
As for people keeping silent when they get mad, maybe it’s their way of dealing with anger.. at least if they’re honest about it, it can be dealt with.
People missing persons but can’t tell them… that’s crazy!! Maybe the other person is missing them too.. but they’ll probably never know, if they keep hiding.

Saha lik meyta bennoum wet3ab tawa, I got so much to say, but I'll just ask a brief question: If you're just yourself, how come you're not in jail for having torn somebody's eye out of his head? How are you still living in a society that keeps trying to reshape you to fit into its own picture?

Let me tell you one thing: being yourself is not always about hitting people we don't like and jumping on people we love (lool ain't that funny? ). You can be yourself without needing to adjust to society but 2 ur own codes and principles and of course from time to time, you can break even those.
